Congratulations to Daniel "The Golden Child" Jacobs and his team, last week for the eighth round knockout round victory over fellow New Yorker, and hardened ring veteran, George Walton. With the head of Oscar De La Hoya at ringside, the bright outlook stable at Golden Boy showed exactly why by dizzying combination of speed and power that left at least wonder why weapons Walton Jacobs was challenged in the first place, and perhaps, why again boxing at all.

The victory increased Jacobs to 17-0 career record with 15 wins by knockout, and positions it well for a summer showdown in the chain HBO. Although not officially confirmed by the Jacobs camp or HBO, rumors had circulated before the fight against Walton Jacobs that the golden boy was standing in line for a August fight with former star of The Contender Peter Manfredo. HBO or not, Manfred or any of the contending middleweight Jacobs blocking the rise in average weight scale, one thing is clear, the path of Daniel Jacobs at first appears to be gold.
