Have you seen the new HBO series True Blood? * While you can count the number of programs they watch on television - that seductively charming as variable refers "One-Eyed Devil" or "Automatic Income Reducer", I must confess that I am a repeat offender when it comes to seeing that show. Maybe it's my love vampire-themed programs. Or maybe it's the appeal of seeing the interaction of human beings struggling with well-known problems such as prejudice and intolerance, the propensity and the trend.

The series makes a remarkable game in what we know about vampires, the knowledge of what is usually based on other TV shows we have seen, the movies we've seen, or books we have read. The writers of True Blood entertain us in validating some of our beliefs and cunning erasing others. Yes, vampires are active during the daytime, because they can not withstand sunlight. Yes, they live off the blood of the living. And, yes, are reduced to a pile burning ground of "non-dead meat" when pure silver is thrown on them. However, there are rapidly eliminated in the very symbol of a cross. Nor become flying bats to escape the impending danger. Finally, I note, with respect to the heart of this writing vampires can not enter your home unless you invite them in No, I can not. They can not violate the space you have sanctified and made its own unless welcome.

What does all this talk of HBO and television and beliefs and vampires have to do with "the terrorists in our midst? Well, at least one of these points makes a direct correlation between vampires and potential terrorists. Terrorists (like Vampires) can not enter your home unless you let them in. WHAT? Wait a minute. I know that on the surface - the statement "The terrorists can not enter your home unless you let them in" - sounds totally absurd. You say: "The nature of a terrorist is that she / he comes unannounced and uninvited to wreak havoc and cause fear."

Of course, that is the nature of a terrorist in a sense, but I challenge to explore the idea of a terrorist from another angle. At its root, a terrorist has the quality needed to frighten, and to do that tremble with anxiety. If indeed we can agree that as the quality of the definition of a terrorist, he asks: is not much of the news that constantly bombards us all day scares us?

No accounts of the financial turmoil and foreclosures widespread housing and random acts of crime and tempestuous relationship dissolved everything, but scare the "doo" out of us? Well, why do we invite in? No, I'm not suggesting that we go about our days, uninformed, head in the clouds (or sand, as it may be). But I am suggesting to look more closely regulate and / or moderate the flow of things (and people, I might add) that consistently have a terrible effect on us. Like vampires True Blood, terrorists in our midst can not remain, they are no longer welcome.
