Vampire Diaries is Elena, a young heroine who is the object of the passion of two vampire brothers. Four months after the tragic car accident that killed his parents, age 17, Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev, Degrassi: The Next Generation) and her 15-year-old brother, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen, Everwood) still are trying to cope with their pain and move on with their lives. Elena has always been the star pupil, beautiful, popular and collaborate with school and friends, but is now struggling to hide his sadness at the world.

Since the school year begins, Elena and her friends are fascinated by a handsome and mysterious new student, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley, Army Wives). Stefan and Elena are immediately attracted to one another, and Helena has no way of knowing that Stefan is a centuries-old vampire, who strive to live in peace among humans, while his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder, Lost) is the embodiment vampire violence and brutality. Now these two brothers vampire - sound and bad - are at war for the soul of Helena and for the souls of your friends, family and all residents of the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.

Based in the book series by LJ Smith's vampire diaries alloy Bonanza Entertainment Productions Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Williamson ( "Dawson's Creek", "I Know What You Did Last Summer"), Julie PLEC ( "Kyle XY", "Wasteland"), Leslie Morgenstein ( "Gossip Girl," "privileged") and Bob Levy ( "Gossip Girl," "privileged"). Marcos Siega ( "Dexter") directed the pilot.

The series premiered on September 10, 2009, in The CW Television Network, and has become his show with better results. On 21 October 2009, the series was given a total of 22 first-season episode.
