Twenty somethings and up who have read Twilight?

I didn't realize at first that the book was basically wrote for teenagers b/c I saw tons of twenty and thirty somethings sitting around Barnes and Nobel completely indulged in it. So, I'm mid 20s and I am having the hardest time getting into it, I've already decided that I'm not reading past the first book. So for everyone over 20:
-Did you like the book and/or series?
-What did you like about it?
-What other types of books do you like to read?
(I'm just trying to get my head around the older demographic of Twilight readers)

I'm not totally understanding it either. 2 of my good friends almost sound like fangirls (and as both 20ish+, that's a frightening thing indeed). I read 3 of the books, and like you, I don't see what the draw is. It's a cute book, if you are looking for a good read. Epic movie read? Not in my opinion. I just don't get it. There are (in my opinion) much better vampire romances than Twilight that could be made into a movie. (props to Sookie, I like those too) As far as Twilight itself, I never got lost in the book. I felt like I could predict almost everything that happened, and that doesn't make a good read for me.

I heard someone else say once that single women love Twilight so much because they put themselves in Bella's place. I wonder if that's true.
