Carnivale movie?

Has anyone heard the rumor that HBO is making a movie of Carnivale to explain what happened after the season 2?

I heard that they were making a movie (or 2) that binds to the creators original plan. It was anticipated that the 3 books. Season one and two were first book. So the rumor I heard was that there would be two separate films to finish the story. Here is a link that talks about talks about Carnivale films.
