Martin Scorsese is no stranger to the silver screen, having caught an Oscar and led some of the most influential films of our time. From the bowels Mafia-gritty "Mean Streets" and "The Departed", the epic drama "The Aviator" and "Raging Bull", is a man who knows how to make an instant classic. His work has launched the careers of important actors (De Niro), who were revived for List B state (Leonardo DiCaprio), and won over the fans and children alike Jersey Shore. Even the most conceited school students admit that Scorsese film love.
But so far, the closest you were going to get to Martin Scorsese and television is, with the launch via satellite television channels, stopping to see favorite scenes from his films. That's all about to change, and the genius of HBO are the people responsible for what could be one of the most risky moves in the history of television.
Up until now, the most expensive pilot of existence is that for the network show "Lost," which was rumored to have cost nearly $ 20 million. While the premium channels like HBO and Showtime do often spend a significant amount of money on their shows, treating them more like little movies and make profits as appropriate, one thing is to set aside a large budget for a proven winner, as "True Blood ", and quite another to all banking operations in the name of the director and crew. But what HBO has in this moment, it is not surprising that van for the whole, let the whole trip, and having a game.
The program in question, after all, is all about gambling. At a time when fans sport often could only hear about the score, calling a bookie, a new piece of America are being built: Atlantic City. And behind every new city in the 1920s United States, there is always a vast expanse of untold stories. In the case of Atlantic City, the stories are often a little bit gritty, in connection with the ban, gambling, and the mysterious power of doing something illegal and making criminals rich as a result.
Boardwalk Empire "was a book before it was a TV show, and that no other book captivated Terence Winter, writer and producer behind" The Sopranos " another story Jersey. Winter partnered with HBO, which put Scorsese in the producer's seat, with him the decision to direct the pilot and episodes. Steve Buscemi, known for his work on "The Sopranos" and the functions of many films like "Fargo" and "The Big Lebowski," has never been a major player, but he is responsible for anchoring the show on this occasion.
What is this lineup of stars for the accumulation of HBO? Not allowed to say, but Rumors are that a budget adjustment for the big screen, not for satellite TV. With a serious lack of hard hitters in the HBO drama department and Showtime at present, more than the rampant success of "Mad Men" re-awakening the interest of people in period pieces, it seems that the odds are for "Boardwalk Empire." After all, with so much success in the belts of the actors, producers, directors and writers, would be an anomaly truth that the show will be a lady.
Thanks to directv offers, it's easy to add HBO and not miss a minute of "Boardwalk Empire." Don't forget about direct TV business, either.
